Angelina and Gavin had their wedding ceremony down at Glendhu Bay, one of the best spots for a ceremony around Wanaka. After some mix and mingle and formal photos of the family the guests were taken up to the Cardrona Hotel for the Reception. We stayed around for some quick shots with the Bridal Party before taking off with a helicopter up to Mt Roy for some mountain shots. We were a bit worried about the wind but it was perfect up there and we had a fun photo session before heading back down to the Reception. Angelina wanted some shots done at the iconic Cardrona hotel and we had fun playing around for 5 min before they headed in.

Wendy and Jaron had a lovely wedding at St Peters church in Queenstown. The ceremony was great with lots of laugther and joy. We did the formals outside the church before going off with the bridal party in vintage cars to some lake locations on the way up to the Heritage Hotel were the reception was. They had arranged a helicopter for some locations shots with just the two of them and the pilot from Alpine Choppers was a guest at the wedding and made the flight amazing. We had some really nice silvery mountain backdrops at the first location and a a snow landing with a waterfall carving out a cave under it. We got a very scenic flight back to the Heritage Hotel and arrived in perfect time for the reception.

Anita and Kerry had an amazing day at the Look Out Lodge in Wanaka. They both got ready at the lodge and the ceremony was held on the big lawn there which has unsurpassable panoramic views of the mountainous countryside. We did location shots around the lodge and Kerry’s uncle let us use his helicopter for some more shots up on Mt Roy and we got some really nice ones with the dark rain clouds looming in the back. I also had the chance to catch up with Tessa & Bryce, a couple whose wedding I shot a couple of years ago.

Sally and Gerald had a lovely wedding in Omarama. Sally and the girls got ready at the family house Riverina on the Ben Omar farm and Gerald and the boys at one of the hotels Gerald manages. We did all the photos before the ceremony and had three helicopters taking the entire bridal party up in the mountains. The first location was spectacular but windy so we did a few quick ones before flying of again to lower altitudes and less wind. The ceremony was held at the Country Time Hotel and Sally’s Grand Dad was the celebrant. A friend of the couple was thinking of getting in to wedding photography so I did my best to show her how I work and shared tips on working as a photographer, its a great feeling to be able to help.

Amanda & Nick were taking a short vacation to NZ from Australia with Amandas family and on the plane they told them that they have made arrangements to have their wedding in Queenstown! A small intimate wedding on a beautiful day at Canyon’s lodge in Queenstown. It’s a great venue with stunning views and the grounds are picture perfect.

Naomi and Rob manage luxury beach accommodation in Australia but wanted something different for their own wedding. They used Mint Events wedding planning to make sure everything went smoothly on the day. We had a very rainy morning so when I left Wanaka so I I packed all my umbrellas!! Ceremony was at 3pm in the Chapel at Stoneridge Estate and about 10 minutes earlier, the rain stopped and the sun came out just in time for location shots at Stoneridge. When we arrived at the Wine House for the reception it was a warm and nice evening for the guests to enjoy some croquette and mingling before dinner.

I shot this Wanaka house for Gary Todd awhile back and its now featured in the latest Trends Outdoor magazine. I worked close with Gary to get the photos he wanted. Its great when you can work together with the architect to showcase and work with the features and ideas he had when he designed the house.

When I met Andrea the first time she and Tim were living in Los Angeles were visiting family here in NZ. Last year they decided to move back to New Zealand.
They had a very hot summer day and we did a quick location shoot at Chard Farm, trying to stay away from the harsh sun and heat before the ceremony. I love the colours of the building at Chard Farm.
The ceremony was held in the secret garden at the Wine House followed by a reception in the onsite Marquee.

I met Smita and Glen over a year before the wedding and was been looking forward to since. The wedding was planned by Mint Events and was very colourful with Smita’s indian heritage. We did the photo shoot before the ceremony on various locations around Lake Hayes and Arrowtown before we headed out to The Winehouse & Kitchen. The early ceremony had a rock star feeling when Smita walked in to AC/DC!!

Rima and Callum had a beautiful wedding at Canyon’s Lodge in Queenstown, with many overseas guests. Currently living in London, Rima is from France and Callum from New Zealand.
The morning started with rain but cleared up and they got a lovely day for their wedding. We had a fun time shooting at Canyon’s lodge and then down around Queenstown before heading back to the reception and a great evening with lots of partying.
