I recieved another qualification for having commercial work of highest standard. It’s a very important qualification  to gain and I am now the only photographer in Otago to have both a Commercial and Wedding qualification. Not only do I constantly provide top imagery I can now also give my clients the comfort of knowing that I am the only photographer on the South Island to have the qualifications and belonging to both NZIPP and AIPA.nzipp_commercial

Product Photography for DF-A

Posted: August 3rd, 2009 | Tags: , , , , | No Comments »

It’s always great fun to shoot for DF-A, you never know what to expect when you are working with animals! We did the images for their new catalogue and for marketing at Tradeshows in the US.

Advanced Advertising Photography Set up

Posted: July 27th, 2009 | Tags: , , , , | No Comments »

This was a great job, we had a crew of 4 to set up this shoot. We started early in the morning and spent 2 hours to get everything ready for when the natural light was right.  The sun burned the cloud layer off and we got clear blue sky and a calm lake. This shoot was done as a cover shot and we did several product set ups for different purposes such as trade shows and point of sale.

Wanaka Living – The Ruby Island shoot

Posted: July 27th, 2009 | Tags: , , , | No Comments »

A very early start out on Ruby Island, it was freezing and we had to get two leather sofas, chest, rugs, speakers… to the far end of Ruby Island! We had lots of hands to help out so I could concentrate to get the set up right. We wanted the sun to be on the lower side so it wouldn’t overpower too much so we had a deadline to get the shot done. To get all the furniture and equipment up there was the most time consuming thing, the actual shoot was done in 20 minutes.

Wanaka living – The Bath shoot

Posted: July 16th, 2009 | Tags: , , , | No Comments »

This was a technical set up, it was an old cast iron bath that took 4 people to get in place and to heat up the water we set up a gas burner around lunchtime and by the evening it was warm enough to get in too. There is only a short time to shoot when the light is right to get the warm feeling and still getting all the contrast of the mountains and details of the lake and bath. I had two flashes set up and fired via remote. The shot was for the Wanaka Living catalougue.

Exciting Advertising shoot

Posted: July 13th, 2009 | Tags: , , , | No Comments »

This was a great advertising  shoot, an advanced set up in a remote location. 4 people built and set up the shoot, the results were perfect and just as the client wanted. To get the light effect I was looking for we used two generators and 3 halogen lights mixed with strobes.

PR shots for Rainaway

Posted: July 6th, 2009 | Tags: , , , | No Comments »

Rainaway is an Auckland based company with franchises all over NZ. They had a conference at the Queenstown Resort College and needed images for all marketing material and their website. I set up my mobile studio in the lounge and got all images done quickly and efficiently  to minimise the disruption of the conference.
