I met up with Head chef Mark Sycamore and Demi Chef de Partie Joseph Clark at Blanket bay lodge to shoot images for an article in Elements. It was nice to be back at Blanket Bay again after spending many hours there working on Jason Dells food book Savvy last year.
After shooting Celebrity Chefs Jason dells food book Savvy last year we became good friends and he and his family all stayed over the weekend and we talked about all the new exciting projects that we have on the go… Jason is moving to Singapore to start up a very nice looking super modern restaurant. I am looking forward to get over there when its all up and running.
I have spent many hours shooting at Blanket bay with previous head chef Jason Dell but this time I shot with the new head chef Mark Sycamore and as always we had a great time and the food out of this world.
Savvy is an amazing project shot over 5 months in Queenstown and Wanaka. Jason Dell is the head chef at world renowned Blanket Bay lodge in Glenorchy and approached me months ago about with his book project and after a few coffees and meetings we were on the way.
We shot the whole book in the area using Blanket bay and several other kitchens around Wanaka and Queenstown.
All dishes were shot within 2 minutes from Jason finished making them so it was all lot of pressure to get all set ups right to get the best shot but also a great feeling shooting fresh food using no artificial methods or set ups.
The book was published by Harper Collins and sold by Paper Plus all over New Zealand
