Natalie & Edwards Heli Wedding in Wanaka

Natalie and Edward enjoyed a perfect warm day for their Heli Wedding in Wanaka. They are both from USA but had been studying in Dunedin and decided to have a small wedding here in NZ before heading back home.

We had two helicopters from Aspiring Helicopters to fly us up to the mountain peaks. Before taking off they did a “ First Look” shot in front of the helicopter hangar.

The Ceremony was up on Coromandel Peak and we did some more shots up there and at a few spots on the way back to Wanaka.

Wedding at Criffel Station – Wanaka

Anna & Ross had a great wedding with lots of laughter and fun:) Anna’s parents have a lovely home just by the lake and it was perfect for “getting ready” shots. Anna and the girls Make up was done by the talented Nova Lee.

The ceremony was up at Criffel Station and it was a vintage theme. They also had a wedding cake I haven’t seen before and probably wont see in awhile unless they just started a new trend. The ceremony was done by one of my favorites, Rev Dennis Bartley. It was his last service before he retired from the local St Columbus Church.
For location shots we had Aspiring Helicopters picking us up in two helicopters and taking us for some great lakeside shots and after that up in the mountains before heading back to Criffel Station.

Wanaka Wedding at Glendhu

Naomi and Kai came all the way from London to get  married here in Wanaka and all guest came from various parts of the world to join them. The reception was at Glendhu bay and the reception at Edgewater Resort in Wanaka. We did some quick shots after the ceremony at the Glendhu before the helicopter picked us up for some mountain shots.

I was just going back through some files and saw that i forgot to post this shoot! Hard to even think about how cold and snowy it can be here when its been around 28 degrees for weeks now!!This was shot a few weeks back after the last big snowfall we had. Matt phoned me up and asked if its possible to shoot in the fullmoon and I said sure that will work , only problem was I was in hospital for a unruly appendix! Second day back from hospital and I packed my bags for an exciting helicopter shoot at night! We flew up in the afternoon to get some more day and evening shots.

Then it was all just a wait for the moon… It really got pitch black and it was not until after midnight the light started to come back but we had to wait to around 2 am until the moon finally got up at the right spot and gave us light enough to fly. Door off from the heli and -10 could only mean very cold when we actually started flying… it was s surreal feeling to take off and fly at night. After a while you got used to the light and we worked our way around the mountains and rivers to get the shots we wanted.

Chinese Destination Wedding in Queenstown

Ester and Andre had an amazing Destination Wedding in Queenstown. The morning started out with a traditional Chinese  Tea Ceremony at  The Gamekeepers Lodge and Ester wore a beautiful pink dress for it.  Then back to Arrowtown to redo hair and make-up and get in to the wedding dress for their ceremony at Stoneridge Estate. We did some location shots with the blossoms at Stoneridge before heading to the airport to fly with Heli line to The Ledge  for some classic Queenstown mountain shots. The flowers were done by Sarah from the Flowerrroom.
