Summer was the busiest Wedding Season ever and I cant say winters been quiet, just slowing down a bit. Last week I shot Louise and Oliver’s wedding here in Wanaka and this week its Claire and Callum’s Wedding in Queenstown.

We had a family holiday at the end of June in Noosa which was great to spend time playing on the beach and in the pool with Lucas and just enjoy some summer.

I was planning to get straight into preparing for the upcoming Iris Awards but had a slight set back with a ruptured appendix and a long ambulance ride to Dunedin hospital in the snowy weather! Fortunately, no surgery required, but the reason it’s been a bit quiet on the blog and face book front, is that I had to spend a week in hospital ( extension of holiday) but I am back to full force now and feeling great!

Two days after I got home, I did another big Heli shoot with Alpine Helicopters for Minaret Station in a meter of snow, minus 7 to 10 at night with no door on the helicopter, it was a bit chilly up there. The most exciting thing was that we did the main shoot at 2 o’clock in the morning in the light of the full moon! It was definitely a new experience to fly helicopter at that time of night and the images came out amazing.

Wedding at Mt Soho – Arrowtown

Rebecca and Jeremy got married at Mt Soho. Rebecca arrived in style by helicopter for the ceremony and the celebrant, Phillipa Cook did a great job as usual. After the ceremony and a quick mix and mingle the helicopter took us up to The Remarkables for mountain shots. It always amazing up there but starting to get a bit cold later on in the season so we got the photos we needed and headed back down for the reception catered by the excellent, In to Food.

A Rainy Wanaka Wedding

It rained on Laura and Simon’s wedding but it was fine when it needed to be!  The ceremony was held out at  beautiful Glendhu Bay and the rain held off long enough until the formal shots, when a few umbrellas were needed.  They used Aspiring helicopters with two choppers flying us up to a great location and we managed to get some nice misty shots before heading back down. On the way back to the reception at Oakridge resort we grabbed a few location shots by the lake. Back at Oakridge all the guest were enjoying canapes and drinks and instead of a cake Laura & Simon had opted for a Champagne Tower and I got some great shots to finish off the day.

A beautiful Autumn Queenstown Wedding at Stoneridge

Kamilla and Rodney live in Australia and decided to get married in NZ and Stoneridge after Kamilla saw it on the web! It was a fun wedding for me to shoot because Kamilla is Swedish and it was nice to speak swedish at a wedding here in NZ.

Hair and make up was done at Crew Haircutters in the  morning before heading out to Stoneridge to get ready in the Cottage.

The ceremony was in the chapel and was followed by drinks and reception up at the Estate.  We headed out to the airport to meet up with Over the Top Helicopters for heli shots up in the mountains. It was a windy day so instead of The Ledge we flew up on the Remarkable’s and had a great time with almost no wind at all.

Autumn Wedding in Queenstown

Nicole and Chris live Brisbane and came over to Queenstown to have their wedding at Stoneridge Estate.

The morning started at Crew Haircutters and then back to where they were staying for the Make up with Renee Little. The boys got ready within walking distance so it was easy to nip over and get some shots of Chris putting getting ready too.

The ceremony was done by Evan Patterson at the Chapel by the Lake and we had a helicopter waiting for us at Over the Top for Heli shots up on The Ledge.

Nicole works as a photographer in Brisbane, its always nice to catch up with other photographers and hear their stories.
