Advanced Advertising Photography Set up

Posted: July 27th, 2009 | Tags: , , , , | No Comments »

This was a great job, we had a crew of 4 to set up this shoot. We started early in the morning and spent 2 hours to get everything ready for when the natural light was right.  The sun burned the cloud layer off and we got clear blue sky and a calm lake. This shoot was done as a cover shot and we did several product set ups for different purposes such as trade shows and point of sale.

Wanaka Living – The Ruby Island shoot

A very early start out on Ruby Island, it was freezing and we had to get two leather sofas, chest, rugs, speakers… to the far end of Ruby Island! We had lots of hands to help out so I could concentrate to get the set up right. We wanted the sun to be on the lower side so it wouldn’t overpower too much so we had a deadline to get the shot done. To get all the furniture and equipment up there was the most time consuming thing, the actual shoot was done in 20 minutes.

Shooting for DF-A is always fun and most of the shoots we do are on great locations and we try to push it every time to get something new. I love clients like this cause I can get to use all my creativity. The products shot today however is standard catalougue ones for marketing material and the US trade shows they are going to.

Exciting Advertising shoot

This was a great advertising  shoot, an advanced set up in a remote location. 4 people built and set up the shoot, the results were perfect and just as the client wanted. To get the light effect I was looking for we used two generators and 3 halogen lights mixed with strobes.

Advertising shoot on a rugged location

Sometimes finding the location and getting to the right spot can be hard but  fun!  Jumping the big boulders to get in position with camera gear was worth it. I had two flashes controlled with pocket wizards.
