Queenstown Autumn Wedding

Felicity and Trent booked me about 3 years ago so It was nice to finally meet them. The rain was pouring down all morning and we had a helicopters booked for locations shots before the ceremony…
It didn’t look like there was any chance of flying so we decided to go for our plan B  for the location shots but when Felicity was dressed and ready we got a call from the pilot and we were all go!!

We dashed to the airport and flew up to the top of Remarkables and got some really nice shots before heading back down for the ceremony and reception at Stoneridge Estate.

They had some nice looking Mazda’s as wedding cars and wanted some good shots of them so we headed down for a quick shoot at Lake Hayes with the sun setting behind the mountains. A great day with rain, sun and fun.

Wendy and Jaron had a lovely wedding at St Peters church in Queenstown. The ceremony was great with lots of laugther and joy. We did the formals outside the church before going off with the bridal party in vintage cars to some lake locations on the way up to the Heritage Hotel were the reception was. They had arranged a helicopter for some locations shots with just the two of them and the pilot from Alpine Choppers was a guest at the wedding and made the flight amazing. We had some really nice silvery mountain backdrops at the first location and a a snow landing with a waterfall carving out a cave under it. We got a very scenic flight back to the Heritage Hotel and arrived in perfect time for the reception.

Naomi and Rob manage luxury beach accommodation in Australia but wanted something different for their own wedding. They used Mint Events wedding planning to make sure everything went smoothly on the day. We had a very rainy morning so when I left Wanaka so I I packed all my umbrellas!!  Ceremony was at 3pm in the Chapel at Stoneridge Estate and about 10 minutes earlier, the rain stopped and the sun came out just in time for location shots at Stoneridge. When we arrived at the Wine House for the reception it was a warm and nice evening for the guests to enjoy some croquette and mingling before dinner.

A beautiful Winery Wedding in Queenstown

When I met Andrea the first time she and Tim were living in Los Angeles were visiting family here in NZ.  Last year they decided to move back to New Zealand.

They had a very hot summer day and we did a quick location shoot at Chard Farm, trying to stay away from the harsh sun and heat before the ceremony. I love the colours of the building at Chard Farm.

The ceremony was held in the secret garden at the Wine House followed by a reception in the onsite Marquee.

I met Smita and Glen over a year before the wedding and was been looking forward to since. The wedding was planned by Mint Events and was very colourful with Smita’s indian heritage. We did the photo shoot before the ceremony on various locations around Lake Hayes and Arrowtown before we headed out to The Winehouse & Kitchen.  The early ceremony had a rock star feeling when Smita walked in to AC/DC!!

From Shanghai with Love

Sally and Carl are a lovely couple from Shanghai. They had their wedding back home in China but wanted New Zealand location shots. Laura from Mint Events liaised with them to get the best out of the day by finding the right locations for the look they wanted.

They showed me some images they liked and it turned which were from an American photographer, regarded as one of the Top 10 wedding photographers in the world, so no pressure!

We had a fun day around Queenstown shooting a variety of locations and enjoying the beautiful weather. The images came out great and exactly what they wanted.
