Mt Cook Wedding for 2 Photographers

Posted: September 9th, 2011 | Tags: , , , | No Comments »

Sydney Photographers, Christine and Daniel got married a while back in Mt Cook. I have to admit I was a bit nervous about shooting two wedding photographers, but it was a great day.

The ceremony was  held outside at the bottom of the glacier. The weather was going between rain and sun so it was a last minute decision to get a helicopter up to the snow for location shots. We caught the last of the sun shine up there and before we headed down we got to see a massive rockfall from of the peaks opposite!

The rain came just as we landed but we managed to get a couple of shots in the tussocks on the way back to the reception at The Hermitage.

Trash The Dress photoshoot

I shot the beautiful wedding of Kamilla and Rodney a few days before in Queenstown and they decided it would be a waste not to get more use of the dress and the amazing nature around Wanaka.

We set out midmorning  to do a couple of locations but spent the whole day having fun. It all ended it the lake and Kamilla braved the cold water for a swim in her wedding dress. If you want to see more images from the actual wedding day check this link out Queenstown Autumn Wedding

I am thrilled with my latest win at this years Iris Awards in Rotorua. The Iris Awards are the most prestigious awards in New Zealand. The images are judged during 3 days by national and international top photographers.

I’ve won 6 awards this year in the Wedding,Commercial and Travel Categories.

It’s an amazing feeling to get awards and I’m so proud of them all, but this year it was especially nice to get recognition for the commercial and advertising work I do.

I also received the honor of becoming an associate member of NZIPP for the awards i have won during the last 3 years.

A Rainy Wanaka Wedding

It rained on Laura and Simon’s wedding but it was fine when it needed to be!  The ceremony was held out at  beautiful Glendhu Bay and the rain held off long enough until the formal shots, when a few umbrellas were needed.  They used Aspiring helicopters with two choppers flying us up to a great location and we managed to get some nice misty shots before heading back down. On the way back to the reception at Oakridge resort we grabbed a few location shots by the lake. Back at Oakridge all the guest were enjoying canapes and drinks and instead of a cake Laura & Simon had opted for a Champagne Tower and I got some great shots to finish off the day.
